Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS)

John Marshall students exemplify the culture of ROAR: Respect Others, Act Kindly, Responsibility First.

PBIS is an evidence based approach for establishing behavior supports and interventions to create a culture where all students achieve academic, social and emotional success. It is not a scripted program or a packaged curriculum. It is a schoolwide system of support that is proactive in defining, teaching, and supporting appropriate student behavior (www.pbis.org/school). Everyone on our staff works together to create a positive culture for our students. For more information on PBIS, visit PBIS FAQ.

Students receive Terrific Tigers for respecting others, acting kindly and showing responsibility first!

When students receive five Terrific Tigers, they earn a specia prize and recognition in the office as well as have their Terrific Tigers posted on our High Five Wall!

Classes earn Tiger Dollars for respecting others, acting kindly and showing responsibility first as a group! The Tiger Dollars can be redeemed for various rewards such as an art lesson taught by the principal and a class dance party!

“The goal of discipline is not to punish kids,
it’s to change behavior.”
